5D10.20 Playdoh Resistor

[Setup Time: 15 Min.] [Current Condition: Good]

Info

New demonstration of resistivity. 2 wires of different thicknesses, one ~1/3 the thickness of the other, are strung between two clamps. Overhead projector light bulbs are in contact with the wires, and the lamps can be moved along the length of the wires via a cart. The relative brightness of the two bulbs changes both at a fixed position between the sets of wires and along the length of the wires.

DC Power Supply in L. Misc

Wires in L. Misc<

Old version, does not work:

A lump of playdoh is connected to an ohmmeter, or in a series circuit. Molding it into various shapes changes its resistance in real time.
